Toshiba Satellite U940-101 Review

Toshiba Laptop800 Euro may not be a small price to pay to get a Toshiba Satellite U940-101, but the laptop should still impress consumers with impressive build quality. The tablet isn’t constructed from light metals, consequently it only has mediocre stability. Nevertheless, the plastic chassis is manufactured rather neatly.

The money saved from using less expensive material is diverted to add sufficiently powerful hardware. The Intel Core i5 3317U is an ULV model from the popular Ivy Bridge family and under the hood, users get a 640GB 5400rpm hard drive and a much smaller 32GB SSD. As so often, the mediocre 14” (1366 x 768) TN panel is a source of criticism.

But at least, the Toshiba Satellite U940-101 uses matte display, which makes the laptop legible outdoors. The battery life is adequate, but the laptop loses points again with a keyboard that gets really hot when the laptop is under load. Toshiba wants to keep system noise low so it uses only a slowly rotating fan. Overall, the Toshiba Satellite U940-101 may not be adequate for those living in warmer locations.
