Toshiba Satellite L855D-10K Review

The Toshiba Satellite L855D-10K may initially look inspiring with its “Iceblue” chassis, but the whole assembly looks rather unconvincing with its poor stability. Nevertheless, the brushed aluminum surface convinces us with cool haptics and good look, although the glossy plastic surface around the display and keyboard attracts fingerprints easily.

On the sides, the Toshiba Satellite L855D-10K is equipped with Kensington Lock socket, VGA out port, RJ-45 LAN socket, HDMI out port, two USB 2.0 ports, combo audio jack, DVD burner, one USB 2.0 port and card reader. The laptop has exemplary maintenance capability, just loosen one screw to obtain immediate access to the hard drive, BIOS battery and RAM. Despite being advertised with the TruBrite display, the display actually has average brightness level. The glossy panel also makes the display hard to see even when the sky is cloudy.

The AMD A8-4500M is clocked between 1.9GHz and 2.8GHz according to requirements. The Hitachi 750GB HDD is sufficiently large and it should be able to storage huge amount of files. The integrated AMD Radeon 7640G GPU is paired with the AMD Radeon HD 7610M through asynchronous Crossfire configuration, which manage to deliver decent frame rate when playing latest game titles.
