At around £400, the Satellite Click is Toshiba’s new mid-tier hybrid laptop-tablet with Windows 8 OS. The machine comes with a 13.3-inch touchscreen HD display, which can transform into a laptop when users attach the snap-on keyboard. It is outfitted with 1GHz AMD A4 1200 dual-core APU, 500GB 5400rpm HDD and 4GB of RAM. There’s also a built-in memory slot that can accept up to 64GB of microSD card. The Radeon HD 8180 integrated graphics card has 500MB of dedicated video RAM and can borrow up to 1.5GB from the system RAM, when needed.
In practice, the display is rich and bright enough for average users. It can support up to 10-multitouch operation and it should ideal for multimedia playback and casual gaming.
On the sides, there are microUSB port, micro HDMI port and audio jack. Included in the box is a 6-inch USB adapter cable for transferring data to other PCs.
In laptop mode, the keyboard base comes with a full-sized USB 3.0 port. From the efficient, processor, IGP and 5mm hard disk drive, the Satellite Click is designed for longevity. The low heat accumulation makes a cooling fan unnecessary and this further improves battery life as well.
