Chromebook Owners in the UK Will Soon Get Supervised User Feature

Parents in the United Kingdom can now have better control with their Chromebook and edit their children’s accounts. Since the Chrome OS is a web-centric platform, parents can set a list of pre-approved websites. Google’s new supervision option also allows them to view web histories, review requests for additional website access and automatically filter adult content. They can also get more granular controls to block all sub-domains of a website.

Parents may create the Supervised User account, by clicking the “Add User” option on the main sign in screen. Google promises that the settings will start to arrive next wee

For users of Windows-based laptops and MacBook, the parental controls feature will arrive to the upcoming version of Chrome web browser. The capability is now available in the beta channel to allow for early testing. On Chromebooks, the web browser itself is the operating system and any change on it would significantly affect the whole user experience.

With this new capability, Chromebooks can be restricted in such a way that children can access only age-appropriate content, which could effectively remove concerns felt among parents.
