Samsung Series 7 700Z3C S01 Review

The Samsung Series 7 700Z3C S01 is an upgrade to the Series 7 Chronos 14” 700Z3C S01DE, which delivers state of the art technology. The performance boost from the new processor model might be negligible, but two things worth considering are longer battery life and significantly enhanced graphics capability.

The laptop also delivers much more stable computing performance with solid turbo load when full load is needed. Unfortunately, like the original model, the laptop’s HDMI out port is still located next to the power socket, making it impossible for owners to use many types of DVI-HDMI adapters, although DVI cabling is still usable. Other than WiFi, the laptop also comes with Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.

The new Intel Core i5 3210M clocked between 2.5GHz and 3.1GHz is only marginally faster than the Core i5 2430M clocked between 2.4GHz and 2.8GHz. The Nvidia GeForce GT 630M GPU is a decent upgrade to the Radeon HD 6490M used by the original model, which allows users to run Battlefield: Bad Company 2 at 33fps with high detail settings.
