The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus could be the most deluxe and the prettiest ultrabook model money can buy with its impressive 3200 x 1800 touchscreen display. It has a sleek aluminum body; the brushed accents and dark bluish hue surely make the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus a sight to behold.
The sense of high-end styling emerges when we flip it open; the touchpad is large and the keys are backlit. Unfortunately, the minimalist design leaves less room for physical connectors, but Samsung manages to add a full-sized card reader, VGA out, Ethernet , microHDMI and a couple of USB 3.0 ports.
Users can bend the display all the way until it is flat on the table and its audio quality is quite nice for a laptop. Like most laptops with touchscreen panel, it is glossy; which reduces outdoor usages. But the 3200 x 1800 resolution feels great, especially if users are used to 1366 x 768 or 1600 x 900 displays. Like IPS, Samsung’s PLS panel also provides excellent colours and viewing angles. Unfortunately, Windows 8 still manages this screen resolution poorly, since text can be rather tiny event at 100 percent size.
The battery life and performance level of Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus is comparable with other premium ultrabook models. One thing that may disappoint users is that dongles can be needed to use ports. However, this is necessary on thinner ultrabooks.
