Packard Bell LV44HC-137GE Review

Packard Bell LaptopThe Packard Bell LV44HC-137GE looks like a decent enough laptop with powerful speakers, relatively useful preinstalled software and cool design. The white surface of the notebook contrasts quite nicely with black, matte plastic used elsewhere. On the left side, users can find a couple of USB 3.0 ports, HDMI out port, VGA out port, RJ-45 LAN socket and Kensington lock socket. There’s a DVD burner on the right along with one USB 2.0 port, power socket, 3.5mm headphone jack and a mic jack. There are only a card reader and status LEDs on the front.

The chiclet keyboard offers ample distance between white-colored keys and they contrast rather well with the grey base. The 17.3” (1600 x 900) display doesn’t look exceptional; the interface of Windows 8 OS looks both vivid and bright. The Intel Core i5 3210M dual-core processor is an Ivy Bridge model clocked at up to 2.9GHz and can handles four threads simultaneously with the hyperthreading feature.

The 500GB Western Digital HDD won’t offer us any surprise and its transfer rate is rather ordinary for the class. Another feature worth mentioning is the Nvidia GeForce GT 630M graphics card that’s enough for moderate multimedia and gaming. Games like Diablo III reach about 40fps at high detail settings.
