The Packard Bell Easynote TE is now available for UK consumers for only £213 from Bargain Crazy, a subsidiary of Shop Direct. Acer owns the Packard Bell brand and it is used typically to designate budget laptops, The EasyNote TE looks rather old-fashioned with its silver and black colour scheme and its chunky chassis.

However, at less than £220 users can get an awful lot for their money. Inside, there’s an Intel Celeron B820 dual-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz that performs almost similarly with the low-end model of Core i3. The Easynote TE is smooth enough for basic tasks, such as office applications, web browsing and HD video playback.

Its 6GB of RAM may sound useful, but the low-power processor simply can’t handle too many software open at once. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 2000 is not built for intense gaming or serious graphics processing, it can still handle casual games and basic image editing smoothly.

Its 15.6-inch (1366 x 768) display offer vivid colors and reasonable brightness level, but the glossy display coating limits outdoor usages. The Easynote TE has the ubiquitous chiclet keyboard. Although it isn’t a bad thing, users may find it rattles slightly during high-speed typing. On the sides there are three USB 2.0 ports, HDMI out, VGA out and audio jack.
