While the ongoing trend in the laptop industry is to sacrifice performance for better portability, many users won’t settle for casual gaming and are still looking for laptops with high-end hardware. MSI has recently released the GE40, which is thinner and lighter than typical gaming laptops. It weighs just 4.4lbs and measures less than one inch thick, which are nothing to be ashamed of.
While isn’t quite an ultrabook, the GE40 still looks impressively compact for a gaming laptop. Its features 14” HD (1600 x 900) display, Intel Core i7 7402MQ “Haswell” processor, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 760M dedicated GPU, DVD burner, SD card reader, Bluetooth 4.0, GbE LAN, WiFi, one USB 2.0 port, two USB 3.0 ports, 6-cell battery, 720p HD webcam, HDMI output and Windows 8 OS. Consumers can also choose between models with different storage options, 750GB HDD ($1300 or £837) and 750GB + 128GB mSATA SSD ($1400 or £901).
