The MSI GE60H may be a good option for mobile gamers who refuse to shell out too much money on a gaming laptop. It offers a good all-around performance, thanks to the decent hardware choice; although MSI has a gone a bit overboard with the amount of preloaded applications. Some negative points of the laptop include a few workmanship flaws, weak battery and glossy display cover.
Laptop owners can connect to the external displays using the HDMI and VGA interface. Two USB 2.0 ports and two USB 3.0 ports are enough for connecting with multiple peripherals in the market. The SteelSeries chiclet keyboard surely deserves praise with its excellent backlight.
The 1080p display should be acceptable for any gaming experience; it is based on TN panel technology and uses LED backlight. The Intel Core i7 4700MQ Haswell quad-core processor is built using the 22nm manufacturing process. Clocked between 2.4GHz and 3.4GHz, the processor is expected to deliver improved battery life, although this is not the case with the MSI GE60H.
Due to its gaming-centric identity, probably the most significant component of the MSI GE60H is its Nvidia GeForce 765M. A combination of high graphics settings and 1600 x 900 resolution should deliver reasonably smooth experience in most cases. While at 1920 x 1080, games are mostly playable at medium-low graphics settings.
