Many companies will spill the beans on their brand new products during the upcoming IFA event.  Sources from Italy recently revealed that Lenovo will soon release an update of the ThinkPad Helix 2 in 1 notebook. It is suggested that the new laptop will have three docking options for the keyboard.

The basic keyboard dock offers standard tying functionality. The Pro keyboard comes with standard touchpad, Lenovo’s proprietary TrackPoint system and a connector that stores digital pen. The Powerbase keyboard comes with an integrated battery, which extends the ultrabook’s runtime.

It is also suggested that the Helix 2 in 1 will have up to 256GB SSD, 1080p display and 8GB of RAM. There’s no word on the processor type, but it could be equipped with Intel Ivy Bridge processor. The company may also provide a future update with the more efficient, faster Haswell processor. We shouldn’t expect the new Helix laptop will be cheap. In fact the original Helix is still sold at $1,500 more than one year after its launch event. More details about the new Helix 2 in 1 could be unveiled during the IFA event that starts next week.
