The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch is a touch-capable laptop from the original model. It’s equipped with a HD+ (1600 x 900) panel, which has AR coating. Viewing angles are still comparable with the non-touch variant of the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch. Users can still deviate 70 degree on horizontal orientation and still see the objects clearly.

However, colors start to invert when viewed at 15 degrees vertically and text become illegible at 40 degrees. The Intel Core i7 3667U processor is clocked at 2GHz and it can go up to 3GHz with the Turbo Boost feature. The Intel 521 Series SSD is acceptably fast, which allows the Windows 8 OS to load quickly.

The Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPU can run stably at 1100MHz, but still less powerful compared to most dedicated entry-level GPUs. Gaming isn’t a strong point of any ThinkPad laptop and smooth performance can only be achieved with older game titles. StarCraft 2 is barely playable at 26fps with medium detail settings.
