Asus recently unveiled its super-slim external DVD writer aimed as a companion for ultrabooks. The SDRW-08U5S-U offers the slimmest form factor in the category at only 13mm. To reduce clutter and save space, the DVD writer comes with a built-in hidden stand. Users can easily switch between vertical and horizontal stances as desired.
To support enterprise users, Asus includes a number of security measures, such as encoded filename functionality, Disc Encryption II and password controls. These robust security packages should keep malicious individuals away from critical data. The DVD writer is shipped in three color options; Bright Berry, Dusty Rose and Mellow Metallic.
The SDRW-08U5S-U offers impressive design with finely-treated metallic surfaces and hairline texture. The suggested retail price is $65 (Approx. £41), however, prices may vary based on locations. The SDRW-08U5S-U should be available for purchase in mid-May and it will also be released globally.
