Lenovo IdeaPad N581 Review

The Lenovo IdeaPad N581 is a budget laptop that excels with its value performance. It’s powerful enough to satisfy the needs of average users, although there are some consequences of buying an affordable laptop. The solid base unit barely yields under finger presses and its hinges firmly keep the lid in position.

On the sides, users can find memory card reader, two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, combo audio jack, Gigabit Ethernet port, VGA out port, Kensington lock socket, DVD burner and HDMI out port. The AccuType keyboard offers familiar layout with smaller right shift, backspace and enter keys, which require some familiarization. The 15.6 HD display is illuminated by LEDs and offers decent brightness for outdoor uses.

The 2.3GHz Intel Pentium B970 dual-core processor offers acceptable performance and there shouldn’t be any lags when running standard Office and graphics editing software. Inside, the 500GB Seagate Momentus 5400 HDD offers decent storage space for most users. The Intel HD Graphics 2000 allows limited gaming performance, but it is still capable of pushing Starcraft 2 to 64fps at low detail settings.
