HP seems to do a nice job with its new Spectre 13-h205eg x2, which is a combination of fast SSD, responsive wireless adapter, good keyboard and IPS display with high contrast and high resolution. The aluminum case reminds us of the Envy x2.
The solid construction of the laptop also results in impressive stability and there won’t be any discernible effect from concentrated forces subjected into a specific area. Precise material transitions and carefully deburred edges are also other signs of competent quality control. High-speed, forceful typing doesn’t cause the keyboard to flex. The touchpad with its glass-like surface is very smooth and allows a precise and very fine control.
The 13.3-inch display is equipped with Full HD resolution, so individual pixel could be somewhat visible due to the sub-200ppi of pixel density. The maximum brightness level is acceptable for outdoor usages, although not quite as high as the iPad Air.
The processor used by the Spectre 13-h205eg x2 is Intel Core i5 4202Y, with 1.7GHz of base frequency. Due to limited space inside the chassis; HP could put a 2.5-inch HDD. Instead, users get a more compact and faster mSATA SSD. The Samsung-made drive could deliver 130Mbps of write performance and 500Mbps of read performance.
