Asus VivoBook S200 Review

The Asus VivoBook S200 is a nice little laptop with 11.6-inch display and pretty everything we would from a lightweight device. It is priced rather reasonably in various UK stores for £330. The Intel Core i3 3217U processor is the brain and it keeps the laptop running flawlessly for daily tasks, while extending battery life a little bit longer.

The 38Wh Li-Polymer battery allows up to five hours of light usages, more than three hours of video playback or two weeks of standby time. The performance level shouldn’t be disappointing, as long as 3D gaming isn’t on our to-do list. The Vivobook S200 is graced with an aluminum base with brushed metal finish.

We can surely thank Apple with its MacBook devices that push the standard in laptop manufacturing this high. The display is standard TN fare, which suffers from poor vertical viewing angle, but the 10-points multitouch capability works quite well. Under normal circumstances, colors are accurate enough and users shouldn’t encounter any lag when swiping between Windows 8 interface screens.
