Dell recently refreshed its ever-popular gaming laptop series, with the new Alienware 18. With Intel’s energy-efficient Haswell processor and dual Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M discrete graphics cards rumbling within the sleek chassis, the laptop should be able to handle any latest game title.
A closer examination reveals that Dell has redesigned the touchpad, keyboard and chassis. A couple things that don’t change are its weight and sheer size; relatively acceptable for a laptop built primarily to deliver serious gaming firepower. The laptop is also equipped with 18.4-inch 1080p TrueLife display and 32GB DDR3 1600MHZ RAM with dual channel configuration. Storage options include 750GB 7200rpm SATA HDD and 512GB mSATA SSD.
Available wireless connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 and Broadcom 802.11 ac. The laptop is available for at least £1320 in the United Kingdom. However, a fully-featured variant can go as high as £2500. Overall, the Alienware 18 is an impressive niche product that can satisfy even most demanding mobile gamers.
