Acer Introduces the R7 Convertible Laptop

Acer has introduced the Aspire R7 and while it comes with common specs for a laptop: Intel Core i5 ULV processor and 15.6 full HD display, it may not be so easy to call it only as “laptop”. It may technically be a laptop, but Acer’s “Ezel” hinge allows users to turn the machine into a desktop computer or tablet.

Acer says that laptop is designed for touch with its touchscreen display.

Acer has made a rather unusual decision in terms of usability by moving the touchpad between the display and the keyboard. The absence of palm rest may cause users to make some unwanted inputs. The backlit chiclet-style keyboard may remind us of Acer’s other laptops. Meaning, the keyboard is likely capable, but not too exceptional.

The Acer R7 is already available for pre-order and users can also purchase it starting on May 17th from Best Buy. Other features offered include three USB 3.0 ports, 500GB HDD, 24GB SSD, Dolby Home Theatre audio, HDMI port and Mini DisplayPort.
