Toshiba Satellite L70-A-10T has glossy plastics case with two colors, silvery gray on the lid and palm rest; and the rest of the case is black. It has a couple of USB 3.0 ports on the side, allowing users to copy files quickly to external storage options, such as USB flash drive or external hard drive. It’s a bit unfortunate that the chiclet keyboard has no backlight. At 15x15mm, each key is reasonably large with clear pressure point and medium key travel Users would easily appreciate the LEDs on num-lock and caps-lock keys.
Toshiba offers a 17.3-inch 1080p display with the Satellite L70-A-10T with acceptable brightness level. Clocked dynamically between 2.4GHz and 3.2GHz, the Intel Core i7 4700MQ Haswell processor is only 10 percent faster than the previous Ivy Bridge processor; but users may not benefit too much from the supposedly longer battery life. The battery will be depleted after 3 hours and 30 minutes of web browsing on WiFi connection.
In genera, the Toshiba Satellite L70-A-10T should work smoothly, although it won’t break any performance record. Other than the Intel HD Graphics 4600 IGP, there’s also the Nvidia GeForce GT 740M discrete GPU. Both support DirectX 11.1 and users can run latest games smoothly at low-medium graphic detail settings.
