Google Chromebook Pixel amazed us with its high resolution display and it seems that Toshiba has been developing a new laptop model as a response. The Kirabook is a ultrabook with Intel Core i5 3337U dual core processor, integrated HD Graphics GPU, 8GB of RAM and 256GB SSD. Like Google’s laptop, the Kirabook stands among most of the competition with its high resolution display, specifically the 13.3” widescreen WQHD (2560 x 1440) Pixel Pure LED Backlit display.
Connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 and Intel Centrino Wireless N WiFi. Other important features include HDMI out port, three high-performance USB 3.0 ports with one of them offering USB Sleep and Charge capability, microphone and integrated HD webcam.
The Kirabook is reasonably light at 2.66lbs and the Li-Po 4 cell, 52Whr battery is able to deliver slightly more than six hours of operational time. At about $1,600 (Approx. £1030), the Kirabook is $300 (Approx. £193) more expensive than the Chromebook Pixel and consumers can get it right now from various online retailers and Toshiba Direct.
