The Toshiba Satellite NB15t is a budget laptop with an Intel Celeron processor, 4GB of RAM and 500GB of HDD storage; not bad considering its £243 price tag. Toshiba said that the laptop won’t ship to the UK until November this year. Fortunately, the company has showcased the laptop in the IFA event.

With its Celeron processor, the NB15t is more powerful than typical Atom-based netbooks. Visually, the laptop is fashioned out of scratchy plastic material, as shown on the palm rest, lid and even touchpad. As expected from an 11-inch laptop, the keyboard layout is a tad cramped, with some undersized keys.

Although touchpads on Windows-based laptops typically get a bad rap, the NB15t actually feels better, since it handles single-finger tracking gesture with aplomb. The physical right and left click buttons are also nice to have, although the make the touchpad smaller. The unit shown in IFA event doesn’t have touchscreen capability and its colors look washed out when we are not looking at the display head-on. But obviously, this is just a sub-£250 model we are talking about.
