Consumers in the United Kingdom can now get the Sony Vaio Duo 11 for £865, which is £344 cheaper than the original price. The hybrid has Intel 2GHz Core i7 3537U processor, 11.6-inch 1080p display, Intel HD Graphics 4000, 128GB SSD, 8GB of RAM, two USB ports, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Sony deliberately leaves out the touchpad and includes a digitizing pen to help users perform precise tasks and boost productivity. Protected with Gorilla Glass, the touchscreen display is simply brilliant.

The integrated graphics may not be able to handle latest 3D games, but it’s perfectly adequate for casual or older games. The processor should do well in typical benchmarks and beat out ultrabooks with less capable chips. It even bests MacBook Air in graphics processing with Adobe Photoshop.

Despite the inherent downsides, such as a rather cramped keyboard layout, the Vaio Duo 11 offers plenty of appeal for a slider device. It is a good solution is users are perfectly fine with size and weight. It may be a stretch to call it both a full laptop and a tablet. There are a number of design limitations that won’t appeal to users who want to get the best of both worlds. But, it is actually powerful enough to perform both tasks.
