Samsung Unveils a New Series 9 Laptop with 1080p Display

The Samsung Series 9 lineup looks rather impressive when released for the first time with its 1600 x 900 display. But now, a number of full HD models have since bested them. As a response, Samsung announced recently that it will release a new model from its Series 9 family.

The unit will feature a 13.3” full HD LED displays, which offers fifty percent higher brightness level compared to previous models. Unfortunately, it comes with a rather surprising omission, as Samsung doesn’t plan to add touch capability. But at least, the mid-cycle refresh of the lineup still brings the laptop closer to the competition in terms of features offered.

But still, the increase in display resolution doesn’t affect the selling price. At only 2.65 pounds and half-inch thick, the Series 9 is still among the lighter and thinner ultrabooks available in the market today. It is powered by Intel Core i7 processor, which is paired with 4GB of RAM. Like the earlier Series 9 model, it may still promise slightly more than 5 hours of battery life. The 256GB SSD offers limited storage capacity for some users, but the added performance should compensate that.
