Without doubt, Samsung’s mobile devices are on fire and the company is seeking to expand to the laptop market. The Series 7 is a mid-range laptop lineup, which offers balanced features and pricing. Despite being less expensive than Series 9 models, they still offer upscale design.

A new member of the club, the Samsung Series 7 Ultra recently pops up on various retail stores in the United States for $999 (Approx. £643). It sports 3rd generation 1.8GHz Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge processor, 128GB SSD and 4GB of RAM. There’s a version with the dedicated AMD Radeon HD 8570M GPU and a cheaper version with the built-in In the HD Graphics 4000 GPU.

Many ultrabook fans will have a lot to like here; the Samsung Series 7 Ultra comes with a 1080p touch display, great build quality and an overall understated styling. In fact, some of its touch and display features outpace earlier Series 9 models. Replacing the SSD is easier as it’s soldered to the motherboard and there’s also direct access to the RAM slots.
