Samsung is expanding its presence in the mobile computing world by consolidating various devices under the ATIV brand. Other than the Windows 8 ATIV tablet, the name also applies to Series 7 and Series 9, which are now called ATIV Books. Samsung has also introduced two new models in the ATIV Book lineup.
The ATIV Book 5 comes with 14” display; it is only 12mm at its narrowest point and weighs a shade over four pounds. For $950 (Approx. £611), users get Intel Core i5 337U processor, integrated GPU, 500GB HDD and 4GB of RAM. The laptop is already available for pre-order and slated for arrival on the end of May.
For $1,200; (Approx. £772) users can get the ATIV 6, which is a bigger model with 15.6” full HD display and more powerful innards. It supports Intel Core i7 3635QM processor, AMD Radeon HD 8770M dedicated GPU, 1TB HDD and 8GB of RAM. The laptop is also available for pre-order and it will arrive about two weeks earlier than its smaller sibling.
