Nexoc M512 (Clevo W650EH) Review

The Nexoc M512 is a likeable, pleasant-looking laptop with decent build quality. While the display lid is susceptible to pressure, it is still acceptably sturdy. Visible distortions on the display may appear, when some amount of pressure is exerted to the back of the lid. Like any 15.6” laptops, the Nexoc M512 offers standard ports configuration, with one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, eSATA combo port and others.

The laptop has a chiclet-style keyboard, which occupies the entire width of the base unit. The whole assembly barely wobbles during normal typing sessions, which can lead to better productivity. Users can type reasonably fast with Nexoc M512. The 15.6” display uses matte panel. Color reproductions are less than ideal, but compensated somewhat by reduced reflections and glare.

The laptop is equipped with the Core i7 3540M processor, which is currently Intel’s most powerful dual-core mobile chip. It even performs better than quad-core processors when processing single-threaded tasks due to more powerful cores that run between 3GHz and 3.7GHz. There are two storage units inside the laptop, the conventional Hitachi 1TB HDD and Mushkin 120GB SSD. The mid-range Nvidia GeForce GT740M GPU allows games to run smoothly on medium-high details settings.
