With the new GX60 and GX70, MSI is throwing us some AMD-flavored mobile gaming solutions. Both are equipped with the AMD “Richland” A10 5750M processor, clocked dynamically between 2.5GHz and 3.5GHz. While the built-in GPU can deliver 40 percent increase in visual performance, these laptops use AMD Radeon HD 8970M for high-end 3D-related tasks, especially gaming at high detail settings.
Other hardware components offered by the GX70 include 17.3” full HD display, 750GB HDD, 8GB RAM, 720p webcam and Blu-ray drive. The AMD Eyefinity technology allows users to access the laptop using multiple display and Killer’s E2200 game networking can reduce lags during multiplayer sessions. Measuring nearly 2.2 inch thick, the GX70 will never be confused with those slim ultrabooks. The GX60 is a more affordable model with 15.6” full HD display with similar hardware configuration on the inside.
Other goodies offered by both devices are one or two USB 2.0 ports, three USB 3.0 ports, VGA out port, SD card reader, miniDisplay port and HDMI 1.4 out.
