MSI CR41-i587 Review

MSI LaptopMSI CR41-i587 scores nicely with its good performance level and it should also earn credit for acceptable power consumption, which in turn, ensures moderate battery runtimes. Unfortunately, the machine still comes with a few shortcomings, including a rather high noise level at all load ranges. Despite the good contrast level, the display only looks mediocre.

This MSI Laptop has gray-black plastic surface with polished matte color, which gives away rather easily to pressure. There’s an audible cracking sound when the unit is picked up and casing may warp a little too precariously. The hinges are adequately firm and users need to use both hands to open the lid. The glossy 14” (1366 x 768) display offers average brightness, which offers good outdoors visibility when used under the shade.

The Intel Core i5 3210M dual-core processor comes from Ivy Bridge family and it’s clocked between 2.5GHz and 2.9GHz based on load requirements. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPU supports DirectX 11 and while it’s not a proper graphics solution, users can get 26fps when playing Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim at medium detail settings.
