Lenovo IdeaPad U510 Review

Lenovo LaptopsLenovo IdeaPad U510 is a budget, entry-level ultrabook. Despite its low-cost status, the laptop doesn’t skimp on workmanship so users won’t get something that looks like a plastic brick. In fact, the Lenovo IdeaPad U510 is solidly built and visually, looks as well-made as the MacBook Pro. But upon closer look, it’s easy to see that the same can’t be said about its keyboard. Keys have short stroke and vague pressure point. The Lenovo IdeaPad U510 has a glare-type 15.6” display and low luminance, which hinders long outdoor use.

The laptop comes with varying processor types, the low-voltage Core i3 models have limited gaming performance. Variants with Core i5 and i7 processors come with Nvidia Geforce GT620M, which delivers decent performance for casual gaming. Nevertheless, enjoying multimedia content, working with productivity software and browsing the web are all perfectly possible with the Lenovo IdeaPad U510.

The laptop may surprise you with its low noise level and it wouldn’t go beyond 33dB no matter how much you torture it. It is also reasonable cool under any load, reaching only 38 degree Celcius with intensive use.
