Gigabyte Announces the U2142 Convertible Ultrabook

Gigabyte U2142 is an ultrabook powered by either Windows 8 or Windows 8 Pro. The convertible design allows users to use the devices as an ultrabook or tablet, thanks to its swivel design. There’s a 3rd generation Intel Core processor under the hood, as well as dual storage system. The ultrabook is about 20mm thick and weighs 1.5kg.

The HDMI out feature allows users to fire up multimedia content and games; and enjoy them in remarkable high definition quality through compatible large external display. Its Bluetooth 4.0 feature keeps battery usage to a minimum. Synching and sharing content would be much easier.

Gigabyte adds a number of bloatware, but users should find some of them quite usable. The Smart Manager UI is useful for consolidating numerous system programs into a highly intuitive page, which allows users to change important settings with just a few clicks. The Ultrabook even includes built-in 3.5 data connectivity for high-speed Internet access in many places.
