Future Intel-based Laptops May Have Integrated Wireless Charging Technology

Intel announced recently that it has joined the A4WP (Alliance for Wireless Power) and this could have a big implication in the laptop industry. Apparently, the chip maker has built up a trust on the A4WP standard, which is focused on the near-field magnetic resonance technologies. When used on laptops, we could have a quite compelling user experience since they can be used to automatically charge various mobile devices, like smartphones and tablets.

The A4WP has more than forty members, which include some big names, including Samsung, Qualcomm and Broadcom. Intel is looking into a good future with this huge partnership, since wireless charging is a part of the technologies of the future. To achieve this, it is important to keep the whole industry to settle on a common standard and Intel’s entry into A4WP is a huge step towards that direction.  So, it won’t be too ridiculous to predict that upcoming Intel-based laptops will include built-in wireless charging technology.
