Dell Vostro 3460 Review

The Dell Vostro 3460 is intended to outdo the earlier Vostro 3450 in terms of performance level and battery life. These enhancements take their toll on heat buildup and noise level, but this shouldn’t be a deal-breaker for most people. The fan emits high noise levels as it runs continuously even under normal loads.

The keyboard is virtually identical with the one found on the Vostro 3450. It allows pleasant typing and the backlighting has two brightness levels. The 14” HD matte LED display has poor contrast and low brightness level. Even so, the laptop makes an acceptable impression in outdoor uses. Even so, users still need to avoid direct sunlight on the screen.

The laptop is powered by Intel Core i5 3210M dual core Ivy Bridge processor, clocked between 2.5GHz and 2.9GHz. The Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500GB HDD runs at 7200rpm and paired with Samsung PM830 SSD, the hybrid system delivers 91Mbps of transfer rate. Both Nvidia GeForce GT 630M and Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPUs work collectively, allowing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to run at 25fps with high detail settings.
