Asus unveiled the Zenbook Infinity at Computex, an ultrabook protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Previously, Acer released the Aspire S7 which used the older Gorilla Glass 2. Corning latest product is claimed to tougher, lighter and more three times resistant to scuffs and scratches. However, it is not known whether the ultrabook will withstand drops and bumps well.
The Infinity is also extremely thin at just 15.5mm and despite its slimness; Asus manages to add a backlit keyboard and touchscreen display. Unfortunately, other technical details are scant, but it appears that the laptop offers the usual selection of ports such as SD card slot, mini DisplayPort and USB 3.0 ports.
It is also rumored that the Infinity will use screen resolution higher than 1080p to compete with Retina-capable MacBook Pro. Acer promises that the ultrabook will be available for purchase in Q4.
