The Asus X102BA is an ultraportable AMD Temash netbook with 10.1-inch touchscreen display. Powered with A4 1200 APU, the device is aimed primarily for budget-minded consumers. The basic version could be priced around £200, while the one with Windows 8 and Microsoft Office could be priced above £260.
The A4 1200 APU is essentially a 1GHz dual-core Jaguar chip with integrated Radeon HD 8180, which won’t set any benchmark result on fire. It should perform well under light computing tasks, such document editing, web browsing and 720p video playbacks. There are various RAM and storage options available, with 2GB/4GB of DDR3 RAM and 320GB/500GB of mechanical hard disk drive.
Considering the laptop’s budget designation, the 1366 x 768 10-point multi touch display may use TN panel which typically suffers from poor vertical viewing angles. The X102BA should arrive in the United Kingdom later this year with several color options; ocean blue, hot pink, black and white.
