Acer TravelMate P253 is an affordable Windows 8 laptop, which comes with Intel Core i3 2328M processor and Intel HD Graphics 3000. The laptop comes with black plastic chassis and silvery gray palm rest. The back of the lid has a glossy surface and other parts of the laptop have matte surfaces. The whole assembly feels stable enough, with the palm rest that flexes only slightly when pressed.
The hinges are firm and it’s not possible to open the lid with one hand. The Acer TravelMate P253 comes preloaded with Windows 8 64-bit OS along with a useful recovery feature. The keyboard looks mostly standard, although the arrow keys are a bit too tiny for some people. Users should get an overall positive typing experience, while the touch pad feels very smooth. The 15.6” 1366 x 768 display is reasonably bright at 211 cd/m2, although visibility will suffer somewhat under direct sunlight.
