Dell Precision M6800 Review

Any laptop manufacturer would like to make the right step in the right direction and Dell has managed to do that with the Precision M6800. The laptop is an interesting option for those who want to get excellent connectivity, keyboard and case. User-friendly maintenance and sturdiness are excellent; but we could immediately notice that the laptop is a bit too heavy at 3.8kg. Users could obtain four USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0/eSATA, Gigabit-LAN, card reader, DisplayPort, VGA and HDMI.

There are multiple display options; the basic model with 1600 x 900 HD+ display, while the more expensive model is equipped with matte full HD 1920 x 1080 display. The most expensive model also has full HD resolution, but also with ten-point touchscreen panel, which would be useful when handling the Windows 8 interface.

Equipped with Intel Core i7 4800MQ, the Dell Precision M6800 is one of the most powerful laptops out there. Unfortunately, the mechanical Western Digital HDD could be the laptop’s Achilles heel, since the data transfer rate is lacking compared to systems equipped with SSD.

To signify the professional orientation of the Precision M6800, Dell adds the Nvidia Quadro K3100M discrete graphics card. It drivers are specifically configured to get the best performance in specific programs.
