Compaq CQ58-260SA, A Good Choice For Cheap Windows 8 Laptop

Compaq LaptopThe Compaq CQ58-260SA looks rather satisfying with its sparkling Windows 8 interface and delicious black liquorice finish. For only $249 (Approx. £160), the laptop can manage typical, routine tasks with good reliability and it always runs silently while doing so. As in many entry-level notebooks, users need to accept the rather mediocre display.

There are also no USB 3.0 ports and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. It comes equipped with 1.8GHz Intel Celeron B830 dual-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 15.6” HD BrightView display, three USB 2.0 ports, DVD writer, 500GB hard disk drive, HDMI out ports, VGA out ports, two Altec Lansing speakers, HD webcam, card reader and RJ-45 LAN port.

The 6-cell battery offers 7 hours of battery life. At 3.1mm thick, the Compaq CQ58-260SA is as chubby as most budget laptops. Windows 8 manages resources better than earlier versions, so the Celeron B830 processor shouldn’t perform too badly.
