However, the laptop offers uncompromising performance level in the mid-tier category. Its port arrangement may not appeal to right-handed users, as USB ports are located at the left side.
Its keyboard layout is quite similar to standard desktop keyboard, with mostly spongy pressure point. The 15.6-inch display has a rather low screen resolution if 1366 x 768 pixels. Contrast is quite moderate although the viewing angles are rather poor.
The Intel Core i5 3230 dual-core processor is based on the older Ivy Bridge architecture and 22nm manufacturing process. The Toshiba MQ01ABF050 HDD offers a gross capacity of 500GB, with 90Mb/s transfer rate, which is acceptable or a 5400rpm drive.
The Nvidia GeForce GT 740M GPU offers DirectX11 support and 2GB of dedicated video RAM with only 64-bit memory bus that limits gaming performance to medium-low detail settings. The reasonably powerful hardware configuration may accumulate higher temperature during peak load, but the fan should cope with the task of discharging excess heat quite well.
