Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E135 Review

The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E135 is a variant of Edge 130, but with AMD’s E2-1800 APU instead of an Intel processor. The E135 is about $40 (Approx. £25) cheaper, but with the same display, chassis, battery and input options. Users still get the same 11.6” display with 1366 x 768 resolution, brightness and colors start to distort horizontally at 45 degrees and vertically at 10 degrees.

The ThinkPad E130 is available in two variants with Intel Pentium 977 and Core i3 2367M processors. Unfortunately, the Pentium 977 is 83 percent faster and the Core i3 2367M is 125 percent faster.

The lower performance level of E135 is redeemed somewhat by the Hitachi 500GB 7200rpm HDD, which is about 8 percent faster than the Seagate 320GB 7200rpm used by the E310. AMD APUs are known for their decent integrated GPU and the E2-1800 includes the Radeon HD 7340 which supports DirectX 11.
