Users in the United Kingdom expecting to get the new MacBook Pro will soon get their wish. The new laptop model comes with a big hardware upgrade, Intel Haswell processor, Iris integrated graphics and battery life.
The 13-inch model may manage up to 9 hours of battery life, while the 15-inch unit may last for about 8 hours, due to the larger display and the more powerful Nvidia GeForce GT 750M discrete graphics card. Both models carry faster WiFi 802.11ac, Thunderbolt 2 ports and PCI Express SSD. The 13-inch system could start at £800, with its 2.4GHz Core i5 dual-core processor, 128GB SSD and 4GB of RAM. Its larger 15-inch counterpart will be available for £1250 with its 2GHz Core i7 quad-core processor, 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM. The non-Retina version of the 15-inch MacBook Pro is no longer available, but consumers in the UK can still purchase its 13-inch sibling.
The new Retina MacBook Pro is equipped with 10th major OS X release, the Mavericks; which deliver more than 200 brand new features. The platform’s core technologies are optimized to improve battery life and boost performance. The operating system also automatically compress inactive data stored in memory to maintain responsiveness.
