Acer has taken the wraps off one of its new convertible, the Aspire P3 Ultrabook, during a major launch event. The company also says that the tablet will be up for grabs in coming days for $799.99 (Approx. £515). The P3 seems to complement Acer’s portfolio in, which comprise V series laptops and a number of affordable Iconia Android-based tablets.

The Acer Aspire P3 seems to have similar form factor compared to Sony Vaio Duo 11. The company may have also taken some design cues from the Microsoft Surface tablet as well. The machine tips the scales at nearly 800 grams and in slate mode, it measures 9.95mm thick. The 11.6”HD IPS display supports up to ten-point touch input and offers a generous 170-degree viewing angles. Tucked away within the svelte form factor is an Intel Core processor and 60GB/120GB SSD storage.

Connectivity options include HDMI out and USB 3.0 full-size port. Pen-based input is possible through the use of the stylus. The Dolby Home Theater technology offers rich audio experience using the dual speakers located on the lower edge.
