Acer Aspire E1-531Acer Aspire E1-531 is an entry-level machine designed for those with tight budgets. The workmanship and design don’t seem to reveal its bargain $430 (Approx. £277) price tag. The attractive price tag isn’t without its consequences, the large 15.6” 1366 x 768 display is highly reflective and easily loses its brilliancy when used outdoors.

However, it is still an acceptable solution for portable multimedia platform. The keyboard is spacious, but it doesn’t provide satisfying typing feel for some people. It has a generous 6GB of RAM, which support intense multitasking tasks, which is somewhat unlikely considering the entry-level hardware configuration.

The Intel Pentium B960 processor lurks inside the solid chassis and it’s clocked at 2.2GHz. Speakers are agreeably loud, although low-range sounds are occasionally muddy. The battery stores up to 51.6 Wh of power and the laptop consumes about 13 Watt/hour at moderate usage. Internet browsing with Acer Aspire E1-531 shouldn’t exceed four hours.
